Form B: Evaluation of Discussion Leaders

Consider the following points in evaluating discussion leaders.   Give them this written form to keep for a reminder.   In general tone be encouraging rather than overly critical (on every point, stick to the “majors.”   (circle applicable)

1.          Well-maintained group environment.

2.          Responds well to others and gives appropriate feedback, with sensitivity, based on good listening).

3.          Did the leader handle well the attendees’ wrong, superficial or confused responses; allow them to stray off topic?

4.          Maintained balanced participation, controlling “over-talkers” and bringing in non-talkers.

5.          Stayed within time limit.

6.          Used many questions including counter questions.   Did not lecture.

Note:   Ice-breaker opening questions can be helpful, if they help stay within the main topic or do not go too long.
